Social Emotional Learning (SEL) has emerged as a pivotal framework within educational contexts, aiming to equip individuals with essential emotional and social competencies. Among the five core SEL competencies identified by CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning), self-awareness stands out as foundational. Self-awareness involves the accurate recognition of one’s emotions, thoughts, and values and understanding how these influence behavior (Goleman, 1995). Enhancing self-awareness is crucial for fostering emotional intelligence, which is linked to better academic performance, improved behavior, and enhanced mental health (Durlak et al., 2011).
