This study focuses on the effects on academic success of the adaptation problems faced by students from the Turkish World studying at the tourism departments of Turkish Universities. Students' grade point average was used as the criterion of success, and a scale was developed based on The Michigan Foreign Student Problem Inventory. The analysis was made through statistical tests applied to 85 data forms that students were asked to complete. A low level negative correlation was found between language problems and academic success In addition, it was concluded that there was no correlation between academic success and other factors such as financial problems, socio-cultural adaptation problems, orientation problems, personal adaptation problems.
