In this study, the washing possibilities of Adiyaman-Gölbaşi lignite were investigated. For this purpose, experimental studies were performed with the lignite sample having 29.47% ash, 46.15% volatile matter, 24.38% fixed carbon, 2.78% total sulfur and 4271 kcal/kg gross calorific value, all on dry basis. First, the washability properties of Adiyaman-Gölbaşi lignite were examined. As a result of sink and float experiments, it was determined that the washability of lignite sample was not satisfactory. Then, the desulfuhzation and deashing of Adiyaman-Gölbaşi lignite were investigated and the experimental results were presented.
