Teaching and Teacher Education, cilt.180, 2026 (SSCI, Scopus)
Teaching and Teacher Education (TATE), launched in 1985, is a leading journal in teacher education. Despite extensive research, prior studies have focused on specific themes rather than examining TATE as an integrated knowledge system. This study addresses this gap by providing a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of TATE's publication history (1985–2025), using Scopus data (n = 4710). A dual-method approach was employed, combining performance analysis (publication output, country productivity, author impact) with science mapping using VOSviewer to visualize co-authorship and keyword networks. Findings indicate sustained growth and thematic diversification alongside a stable core in teacher education and professional development. Collaboration networks highlight dense European clusters, while citation patterns indicate that influence is not solely determined by network centrality, as highly cited contributions also originate from authors outside the clusters. Overall, the study provides an integrative understanding how knowledge is organized, circulated, and sustained within TATE.
