2nd International FLAC Symposium, Lyon, Fransa, 29 - 31 Ekim 2001, ss.281-286
The purpose of this study is to analyze the stress distributions, displacements and failure zones around the main transport road which has been planned for the deep coal seam panels of GLI Tuncbilek mine. Designing of the support system of this road has a great importance, since it is 500 m in length, it has a cross-sectional are of 14 m(2) and it reaches down to a depth of 500 meters. The first model in relation to the opening after excavation (without support) has been studied by using the finite difference program FLAC(3D) in order to investigate the rock behavior around the opening. Since the failure zones occurred around the opening in this model, various models with different support designs have been studied and the study demonstrated the best solution in terms of stability and economy was to apply a cemented lining reinforced with I-profile steel arch to the semi-circle shape of the opening.
