Araştırmanın amacı, yaratıcı drama etkinliğinin sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerinin basit makineler konusunu öğrenmelerindeki etkililiğini incelemektir. Çalışma grubunu, 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Afyonkarahisar ili Merkez ilçesinde yer alan bir devlet okulunun sekizinci sınıfında öğrenim gören bir deney (n=24), bir de kontrol grubu (n=24) olmak üzere toplam 48 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Bu araştırmada hem nicel hem de nitel araştırma yöntemlerini içeren karma yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel kısmında veri toplama aracı olarak, çoktan seçmeli Basit Makineler Ünite Başarı Testi, ön test ve son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın nitel kısmında ise eylem (aksiyon) araştırması yönteminin kullanılması tercih edilmiş ve veri toplama aracı olarak bir görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, “Bu makineler çok basit” isimli etkinliğin, öğrencilerin basit makineler ünitesini öğrenme başarılarında olumlu yönde etkisinin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğrenciler; zevkli ve eğlenceli ders işledikleri, yıllar boyunca basit makineler konusunda öğrendiklerini unutmayacaklarını düşündükleri, bu yöntemin diğer konularda da kullanılmasını istedikleri yönünde görüş bildirmişlerdir. Bu doğrultuda, basit makineler ünitesinin yaratıcı drama etkinliği ile desteklenerek işlenmesinin etkili bir uygulama olduğu sonucuna varılmış olup; öğretmenlerin, derslerinde bu tür etkinliklere yer vermeleri önerilir.
The purpose of this research is to examine the effectiveness of creative drama activity on students' learning simple
machines. The study group of the study consisted of the 24 control group and 24 experimental group (n = 48) ) studying in
the eighth grade of a secondary school in the central district of Afyonkarahisar Province in 2018-2019 academic year. In this
research, sequential explanatory design was used which is a combination of both quantitative and qualitative research
methods. In the quantitative part of the research, used a multiple-choice achievement test on "Simple machine” was
applied as a pre test and post test. In the qualitative part of the research, an interview form was used as a data collection
tool. As a result of the research, it was determined that the activity named “These machines are very simple” has a positive
effect on students' learning achievement the simple machines. The students stated that they had fun and enjoyable
lessons, thought that they would not forget what they learned about simple machines over the years, and that they want
this method to be used in other subjects as well. Accordingly, it was concluded that the processing of the simple machines
unit by supporting it with creative drama activity is an effective practice, and it is recommended that teachers include such
activities in their lessons.
