Abstract: The study was conducted to observe how many nurses performed the steps of creating an air lock, determining the ventrogluteal site, and Z-track technique in IM injections and to evaluate the theoretical education and a low-fidelity IM injection simulator training given to the nurses. This study was conducted as a randomized controlled quasi-experimental research using a pre-test–post-test design. The sample of the research consisted of 95 nurses. The data was collected using the Nurse Identification Form and Observation Form for Administering Intramuscular Injections between April 2019 and August 2019. In the evaluation made at least 2 weeks after the training, there was an increase in the number of nurses performing the mentioned steps in intervention group compared to prior training. The training provided to the intervention group had a positive impact on the intramuscular injection practices of the nurses and they left completed training with increased skill.
