Geo-Digital Knowledge Engineering Group (GeoKnow)

Welcome to the GeoKnow Research Group!

Dear students, researchers, and solution partners;

As GeoKnow (Geo-Digital Knowledge Engineering Group), we are opening the doors to an innovation center that combines the rich heritage of earth sciences with the "Hi-tech" capabilities of modern digital engineering. Our group represents a vision where geological processes are not only observed but also transformed into "intelligent information structures" that can be understood by machines using Semantic Web and Knowledge Graphs technologies.

Why Are We Here? The world is increasingly facing complex NaTech (Natural-Hazard-Triggered Technological Accidents) events where natural disasters trigger industrial accidents. We not only predict these risks but also simulate the "cascading effects" of disasters in a virtual world by creating Digital Twins of critical infrastructures. Our goal is to transform geological knowledge into life-saving strategic intervention protocols in seconds.

What Awaits You? Especially for our first-year Geological Engineering students, our Spring Semester program will show you that your profession isn't just about "hammer and compass," but also about being part of UAV-SAR (UAV-based radar) imaging and AI-supported decision-making systems. We also prepare detailed programs for both Engineering Research Projects and postgraduate studies.

Our Vision: As we aim for in our projects, we strive to build a culture of resilience at European standards and place earth sciences at the heart of digital transformation. In this journey where we blend the ancient wisdom of the Earth with the digital intelligence of the future, we are delighted to welcome everyone who is curious about science and technology. Join us on this digital bridge between science and data, nature and technology.
