The Âtıf Efendi Library, founded in 1742 by Defterdar Mustafa Âtıf Efendi, houses numerous manuscript and printed works on social, natural, and religious sciences, including history, literature, jurisprudence, theology, mathematics, psychology, and sociology. Manuscripts serve as the subject of studies such as critical editions and facsimiles, and also provide opportunities for codicology studies independent of the texts. Extra-textual elements, which have been the subject of various studies in recent times, make significant contributions to book culture, history, and other sciences. This study examines the non-book records (such as copying notes, ownership marks, negotiations, evaluations, etc.) found in manuscripts on history in the Âtıf Efendi collection. In the first part of the research, which consists of two sections, manuscript descriptions and paratext information are presented based on inventory numbers. In this part, the first and last pages of the manuscripts under review were examined one by one to identify the records contained in the copy. Textual elements containing different types of information were classified according to their content and examined. The second part sets out quantitative data, organized under four subheadings and presented through graphs. As a result, a range of social and intellectual data relating to manuscript culture has been brought to light. These include profiles of copyists, networks of manuscript owners, chronologies of authorship and copying, as well as evidence concerning which works were read and discussed and for whom manuscripts were commissioned.
