Cellular manufacturing increase productivity and simplify the control of the workshop. The majority of the approaches to form these cells is focused on machine or process similarity alone. But in practice, parameters like process flow, production quantity, lot size, process times and workloads of the machines are also important issues to be considered. Neglecting of workloads in models may cause to increase throughput times for the products, and work in process remarkably. This study proposes a special approach for sheet metal fabrication to avoid such problems.
