Özet

Objectives: – We reviewed weight loss and gaining wrinkles, and the impact of weight loss drugs on facial aesthetics. Methods: – The resources from Eskişehir Osmangazi and Kirikkale Universities, along with Google, Google Scholar, PubMed, EBSCO, and ProQuest Central, were consulted for the literature review. Between 2010 and 2025, we searched for “weight loss, ” “wrinkles, ” “weight loss drugs, ” and “facial aesthetics.” This article utilized 20 references. Results: – The cosmetic effects of rapid weight loss are becoming more apparent as the popularity of GLP-1 agonists, such as semaglutide, for obesity management continues to rise. While these drugs provide significant metabolic advantages, they also present new cosmetic challenges, particularly skin laxity, body contouring, and facial volume loss. Patients are achieving considerable success with dermal fillers, biostimulator agents, and skin-tightening technologies to restore lost volume, improve skin elasticity, and refine body contours. Further studies are needed to understand how GLP-1 agonists like semaglutide affect skin health and fat distribution over time. By investigating the molecular mechanisms behind collagen degradation, fat loss, and skin elasticity, practitioners can enhance treatment protocols and offer more effective solutions for patients after weight loss. Exploring the psychological effects of these cosmetic procedures will be essential for providing comprehensive patient care. Conclusion: – The aesthetic community must develop innovative therapies that enhance physical appearance and overall health to address the growing number of individuals using semaglutide for weight loss. The importance of integrating medical and aesthetic treatments to assist patients in achieving their health and beauty goals is increasingly recognized in this dynamic field.
