Özet

As special areas for children's play, playgrounds represent an important urban context in a modern city. On the one hand, the spatial and social complexity of the modern city is expressed as safe and free playgrounds, on the other hand, due to the perception that children cannot cope with this complexity. In this study, it is aimed to determine the requirements expected to meet the relationship between children's playgrounds and the environment by examining the design criteria that should be considered for the developmental effects of playgrounds on children. Perceived space has lasting effects, especially for developing individuals. Childhood is considered to be one of the most influential periods in the development of an individual's life. Many changes, both predictable and unpredictable, that occur between the ages of two and eleven leave a significant impact on the character and personality of the individual. These changes can be psychological, physical, cognitive, social or emotional. Location, culture and experiences all affect this. This study covers the development of different perspectives by examining the historical processes of these areas by focusing on the improving effects of playgrounds on children, and a study to increase the effects of the areas on the physical and cognitive development of children. The general structure of the study is the relationship between the concepts of ' Environment-child, Play-child, Environment-child, Play placeschild interaction'. What are the effects of playgrounds on child development? To what extent are the experiences gained in the city satisfactory in terms of the relationship between the child and the environment? Answers to questions are sought. The study aims to understand children's perception not only in terms of visual efficiency, but also in terms of users' needs, problems and experiences. For this reason, it is foreseen to benefit from both qualitative and quantitative research methods in the study. In this study, which will be researched on the design of playgrounds and user effects, it is considered to use the document analysis method. The research envisages the collection and interpretation of data. Content analysis, which is a quantitative research method, is also in a guiding position for the study.
