Abstract

Ankle joint mobility is extremely important in standing, walking and daily activities. Restriction of the ankle movements occurs in the foot and ankle pathologies. Various methods are used to measure the ankle joint motion. Conventional methods are plastic goniometer and inclinometer in single plane. In that methods, measurements were made by contacting to foot, which causes measurement errors. Hi-Tec medical tools that can perform this evaluation expensively. For this reason, there are needs for reliable and economical devices. The aim of our study was to design a non-contact evaluation instrument controlled by the video camera. The correlation between ankle range of motion degrees obtained from conventional method (plastic goniometer) and non-contact range of motion measurement device results will be investiga  ting in healthy university students. In addition, the measured information will transfer to the computer environment and processed.
