Özet

The objective of this study is to clarify the contents of significant concepts that are radicalism, extremism, and fundamentalism frequently used interchangeably in the literature. The study employs Husserl's phenomenological method to redefine these concepts through phenomenon of alienation from the lifeworld. This conceptual analysis model is applied to the case study of Salafism, which is commonly described as radical, extremist, or fundamentalist in the literature. The publications of Al-Qaeda in Arab Peninsula, a prominent representative of this strong current within Salafism in the contemporary era, are analyzed to reveal the organization's discourses on cognitive and behavioral radicalism and extremism.
