Özet

Batteries that can be used repeatedly in charge–discharge cycles have become an indispensable part of modern life. Time is the most important factor in human life. When choosing batteries, fast charging and discharging capabilities are among the reasons for preference. Fast charging and discharging can also cause batteries to overheat and even cause fires. Therefore, ensuring thermal management of lithium-ion batteries is critical to the safety and performance of the batteries. In this study, thermal and electrical analysis of the battery was performed with a three-dimensional real battery connection. The cooling process was carried out with serpentine cooling, which has never been used before. Three different models have been proposed. For each model, three different refrigerants (air, water, and engine oil), three different ambient temperatures (293 K, 298 K, and 300 K), three different refrigerant inlet speeds (0.01 m s−1, 0.02 m s−1, and 0.04 m s−1), four different battery discharge rates (0.5C, 1C, 2C, and 2.5C), and four different SOH values (100%, 60%, 50%, and 40%) were evaluated. Among the fluids, water gave the best results. The temperatures of the batteries were observed to be higher at higher discharge rates. As the speed of the refrigerant and the ambient temperature decreased, an increase in the temperature of the battery was observed. In the results stated so far, each model was evaluated on its own. When the models were evaluated within themselves, the first model gave better results than the other models.
