Özet

This article provides results of a survey of qualitatively structured interviews with 85 disabled persons and their families in Corum Province who are koowledgable about the life of Prophet Muhammed. The survey specifically aims at investigating what handicapped people and their families, who are more or less knowledgable about the life of Prophet Muhammed, learned from the life of Prophet Muhammed in coping with their problems and in accepting their disability. The results of the survey show that those people learn and adopt in their lives these 10 attitudes: to endure, to act determinedly, not to lose hope, to evaluate the painful events as a part of examination, to be grateful, to show compassion to children, the positive effects of faith, to believe that there will be corresponding reward for hardships, to make things easy, and to avoid making things difficult.
