Three new heteroleptic coordination polymers, namely, [Co2(μ4-L)(μ-pbmix)2]n (1), [Zn2(μ4-L)(μ-pbmix)2]n (2), and [Ni2(μ4-L)(μ-pbmix)2]n (3) (H4L = 5,5′-(but-2-en-1,4-diylbis(oxy))diisophthalic acid, pbmix = 1,4-bis(2-methyl-imidazol-1-yl-methyl)benzene (pbmix)), were solvothermally synthesized through the reaction of H4L and pbmix with cobalt(II), nickel(II), and zinc(II) nitrates. Their structures were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The thermal properties and phase purities of 1–3 were investigated using thermal analysis techniques (TG and DTA) and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD). Complexes 1 and 2 are isostructural, exhibiting 3D frameworks with a point symbol of 86. Complex 3 features a 2D network structure with a kgm topology and point symbol of {32.62.72}. Additionally, the luminescence property of compound 2 was investigated.
