Neonatal period is a once in a lifetime opportunity for immunization. There is already a common practice to vaccinate neonates against tuberculosis, hepatitis B, and polio. Rotavirus vaccination also holds promise in the neonatal period. A broader page of neonatal vaccines is an unmet medical need. Deeper page of neonatal immunology is a requirement for successful development of new vaccines for this valuable target group.
