Acute heart failure syndrome is a heterogeneous group, which requires distinct therapeutic approaches. Diuretics and/or vasodilators for patients with high blood pressure and inotropic agents for patients with low left ventricular ejection fraction and evidence of hypoperfusion are kept in the forefront.
