We can say that relation between religion and state is as old as the human history. It is observed that the relation between religion and state has occured in various ways throughout the different periods of history. Historically in the begining, 'religion' was seen as the only power area then with the growth of social organisation, political power 'state' gained importance and has emerged as a seperate power area apart from religion. After this period, religion has dominated over state or with the order reversed, state has dominated over religion from time to time. And sometimes they tried to survive without interfering one another as two different power in the same community.
