Abstract

Angiogenesis is extremely important in cancer progression. The therapeutic approaches that target regression of tumors through suppression of angiogenesis have been under investigation for a long time. In addition to chemotherapy, monotherapy as well as monoclonal antibodies and tyrosine kinase inhibitors increase the survival of patients with colorectal cancer. Considering this point of view, understanding the intrinsic molecular mechanisms will afford great opportunity to develop targeted therapies to combat colorectal cancer. © 2014 Association of Oncology.
