In this study, the relationship between financialization and price stability in
the Turkish economy has been investigated. The relationship between financialization
indicators and price index is analyzed with the ARDL boundary test. Variables have
been determined based on theoretical information and literature The analysis
includes data on price index, capital market capitalization, total securities in bank
assets, foreign direct investments, portfolio investments, loans, and deposits for the
period 2003-2019. According to the findings, in the long run, the price index
negatively affects the sum of securities in bank assets, foreign direct investments, and
portfolio investments. There is a positive relationship between deposits and loans. In
the short term analysis, there is a negative and significant relationship between
capital market capitalization and the price index. Accordingly, financialization affects
price stability in the Turkish economy.
