Preoperative cardiac morbidity depends on different kinds of perioperatif risks. These risk factors for both cardiac and non-cardiac surgery have been recently revised and reported by American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association (AHA). They updated guidelines for patient and operation specific cardiac risks especially emphasizing on the efficacy of both invasive and non-invasive sires tests. Assesment of risk and risk reduction strategies and recommendations for perioperative cardiovasculary evaluation are reviewed and especially the newly renamed cardiac conditions and clinical risk factors which place the patient in the highest risk category will be discussed.
