Abstract

Among the vocabulary in the historical Turkish texts, a rich terminology of agriculture is present. In this article, we will touch upon the nouns refering to agriculturalists or farmers, specifically the word "tarigMçi" in the history of Turks, and Turkish language. Also the place of "tariyci" with its usage in the ancient Turkish corpus is examined comparing with modern Turkish dialects.
