Özet

This study examines the impact of tobacco-related risk factors on public health within OECD countries by focusing on smoking and vaping prevalence across different demographic groups. Eight variables were analyzed, including daily smoking rates by sex and age groups (15-24 years and 15 years or over), regular vaping product usage among males, and overall tobacco consumption. Data were derived from OECD health statistics and covered both total and gender-specific populations. Multivariate analysis was conducted to explore the relationship between these variables and key health outcomes, highlighting the psychosocial dimensions associated with tobacco use, such as age, gender disparities, and youth vulnerability. Results reveal that smoking prevalence remains significant among young adults, particularly males, while vaping products are emerging as a critical factor influencing tobacco consumption patterns. The findings emphasize the need for integrated public health policies targeting both traditional and alternative tobacco products, with special focus on preventive strategies for youth and gender-sensitive interventions to mitigate long-term health risks.
