Özet

Green organisational culture is gaining more attention as it transforms environmental sustainability from a formality into an understanding that captures the soul of organisations and becomes a strategic priority for organisations. However, the green organisational culture still lacks a robust conceptualisation and measurement scale. In order to fill this gap, this study aims to conceptualise the green organisational culture and develop a scale for it. Four consecutive studies were conducted within the scope of the study; one of them was qualitative and three of them were quantitative. In the first study, qualitative research was conducted to reveal the nature of green organisational culture. For this purpose, data were gathered from the managers of some green hotels. In the following study, the scale was refined, validated, and its nomological validity was tested. Data for quantitative studies were collected from the managers and employees of these hotels. As a result, a 36-item scale consisting of 9 dimensions was developed. This study is expected to make a unique contribution to the literature as the first and most comprehensive study aiming to develop a green organisational culture scale.
