Abstract

Background: To clarify the effect of smoking on bone metabolism in the fetus, we measured osteocalcin (OC), bone isoenzyme of alkaline phosphatase (BALP), procollagen type 1 C-terminal propeptide (PICP) in maternal serum and umbilical cord blood.
