The study population is composed of a total of 27 primary school students in 5th grade as 14 girls and 13 boys. The descriptive analysis method was used to analyze the data obtained. Two field experts and the researcher conducted independent studies in forming the interview coding key. The final draft of the coding key was formed in light of the agreement reached between the experts and the researcher. According to the results gained, primary school students read adventure books most. They state that they imagine about the places in those books, that they identify themselves with the heroes and that they feel curious about the process and ending of the events. Half of the students say that they read newspapers every so often and prefer to read sports pages in a newspaper. Less than half of the students seem to read magazines occasionally. The type of the magazines they prefer to read varies according to their sex. The pages which they prefer to read in a magazine present a broad range such as stories, comics, recipes, crossword puzzles, astrological signs, sports, space, world of animals and so on.
