Social sciences and educational sciences departments were found to publish the most in this field. Key sub-topics include measurement scales for quality, Total Quality Management (TQM), student satisfaction as ‘customers’, distance education and sustainability issues. The study concludes with discussions on the results and suggestions for future research on quality in higher education.
