Biomaterials are in contact with fluids continuously or for a certain period. The body's reactions to these materials are extremely different. For this reason, the correct selection of biomaterials is essential. In this research, a novel multi-criteria decision-making procedure (Reference Ideal Method) has been used for orthopedists/practitioners, prosthesis and implant manufacturers. This method produces successful results, especially in target-based problems. The method has not been used for the selection of target-based biomaterials before. In this study, it was applied to two different biomaterial selection problems from the literature. Consistent results have been produced with studies in the literature.
