We report on a case of a patient with extramedullary lung plasmacytoma occurring 18 years after radiotherapy given for locally advanced breast cancer. Histologically similar conditions such as multiple myeloma and solitary plasmacytoma of bone were ruled out on clinical and laboratory grounds. The risk for a second primary malignancy following radiotherapy or chemotherapy empasizes the need for a life-long follow-up of patients receiving such treatments.
