Özet

Lifelong learning emphasizes the continuous development of an individual's knowledge and skills throughout their lifetime. This concept extends beyond the confines of traditional educational systems and has garnered significant attention across various disciplines such as Psychology, one of the most closely intertwined with educational sciences. Research from both education and psychology highlights the beneficial impacts of lifelong learning on psychological well-being. However, current studies exploring the intersection of these two emerging concepts often fail to delve into the underlying dynamics and mechanisms through which these benefits are realized. In this context, the concept of psychological resilience—a protective shield against psychological issues—emerges as a crucial element that could fill this gap in the literature. Therefore, this chapter aims to summarize the positive effects of lifelong learning on psychological health and to discuss how integrating the concept of psychological resilience into this relationship can contribute to both fields.
