Abstract

Finite element method based on extended cubic B-spline(ECB) functions is set up the solutions of an initial boundary value problem for the generalized Burgers-Fisher equation(GBFE). The time discretization of the method is achieved by the Crank-Nicolson technique. The validity of the proposed algorithm is checked by calculating the error using discrete maximum error norm.
