In this study, a low-pass acoustic duct filter with multiple step discontinuities is designed with the help of modal analysis and building block method. The structure of the duct filter is composed of successive area contractions whose geometrical parameters can be adjusted so that the low pass filter can operate at the desired band. The analysis is also compared with the simulations and the computation times of the proposed approach and the simulations are analyzed. Some examples regarding standard engine noise frequencies are presented.
