Özet

The Project International Collective for Design (PiCoDe)
is a teaching/learning method based on the collective
experiences from four designer researchers, designers
and artists from various specialisations. This new form
of training is deicated to graduating students from art/
design Universities, who in the near future will be preparing
themselves for the labour market and multidisciplinary
opportunities.The PiCoDe Collective Method is a teaching/learning
methodology that prepares graduating art/design students
for the international labor market (i.e. art/design agencies
or departments within companies), which through
conventional teaching/learning methods, higher-education
has limitations. Unless art/design courses offer employment
incentives through internship programs, students rarely
have the opportunity to experience the challenges of a
professional workplace and are commonly undeveloped in:
communication; collaboration; social responsibility; critical
analysis; creativity; leadership; self-orientation and resilience
skill-sets, which are more social than technical, and that
employers often look for during interview. Therefore, the
PiCoDe Collective Method is a resourceful alternative that
promotes a time-efficient and effective teaching/learning
methodology to simulating a professional workplace, whilst
conducted within an academically controlled environment.
