In this study, the rate of flow exergy destruction is investigated numerically in parallel plate microchannels during laminar forced convective flow. Hydrodynamically and thermally developing flow is considered as two-dimensional, transient, and incompressible. The governing equations in Cartesian coordinates are solved by the finite volume method with SIMPLE algorithm. The modeling of flow field in microchannels due to the special characteristics of microscale flows is illustrated. The present solutions are carried within in the microscale region of Knudsen number <0.001 for various Reynolds and Brinkman numbers. The results indicated that the exergy destruction reaches its highest value at the highest value of the Reynolds number and Br / Ω values at the entrance region under prescribed conditions in a parallel plate microchannel.
