Özet

Pain which has so many negative effects in human life is an unpleasent sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage. Management of acute postoperative pain remains supoptimal, and nearly 80% of patients report moderate to extreme pain following surgery. Among the whole healthcare staff, nurse has an important role when evaluating and decreasing the postoperative pain. As healthcare personnel who look after patient during the illness, nurses are in an ideal place to be able to define and evaluate the pain.
