Özet
Nowadays, hearing aids are prescribed to children diagnosed with hearing loss (HL) as early as age 1. Nevertheless, HL might continue to impact children's communication. That is why it is crucial to have current studies examining children's performance in natural settings, including at home or in daycare. Mild to severe hearing loss (HL) affects about 1-2 out of every 1000 infants. Regarding hearing loss, about 95% of children are born into households with hearing impairment. When communicating with their child who has HL, hearing parents often employ spoken language. Improving communicative outcomes for children with HL has been a recent trend, made possible through early detection through universal hearing screening (UNHS). Cochlear implants (CIs) are an option for children with sensorineural, severe-to-profound HL, and hearing aids (HAs) are usually fitted shortly after diagnosis.
