Abstract

Space vehicles rotate in space in response to internal and external forces. For some orientations, their attitude must be corrected to achieve mission objectives. The orientation of a space vehicle can be changed using reaction jets and/or wheels. This increases the cost and complexity of the system. However, existing manipulator systems on the vehicle may be used to change spacecraft orientation. In this paper an algorithm is presented to correct attitude of a space vehicle using space manipulators.
