Özet

In the world, the reduction of water resources due to global warming and sustainability issues are taken into consideration and new alternative building materials are researched. One of them is sulphurous concrete, which is an alternative product to concrete produced with Portland cement. Sulfur concrete is also called waterless concrete. Sulfur concrete is formed as a result of mixing sulfur, which provides binding properties by melting at 130-150 ˚C with aggregate. Considering that the traditional Portland cement, which is widely used in the construction industry, uses approximately 130-180 kg of water in 1 m3 of concrete mix, it is understood that a significant amount of water consumption is used for concrete. It is noteworthy that sulphurous concrete does not require water and is sustainable. Sustainability is targeted through the selection of sulfurous, which is both naturally occurring and recyclable in nature. In addition to being easily obtained from mines, sulfur is produced more cheaply as a by-product in oil and natural gas refineries. It is thought that the fact that there is no need for water in the production of sulphurous concrete, it can be used in countries with water problems, as well as in the stage of establishing a living space in space, which has been done for years. In particular, the idea of establishing a base on the Moon is being researched by many countries and it is seen that sulphurous concrete is an alternative composite material in the studies. For these reasons, studies on the production of sulphurous concrete are carried out. Various literature studies have been carried out on sulfurous concrete. In this study, the studies related to the workability, strength, durability and cost of the sulfurous concrete obtained from the researches are mentioned.
