Abstract

We report a case of cutaneous malignant melanoma that showed extraosseous accumulation of Tc-99m MDP in a metastatic lymph node. The patient was a 61-year-old man with histopathologically proven cutaneous malignant melanoma in his left foot. Bone scintigraphy demonstrated extraosseous Tc-99m MDP accumulation in a left inguinal lymph node as a hyperactive focus. The histopathological diagnosis was lymphatic infiltration of malignant melanoma to the left inguinal lymph node. There have been a few cases showing abnormal extraosseous accumulation of Tc-99m MDP in malignant melanoma lesions in soft tissue.
