This chapter covers printed circuit board (PCB) structure, contents, sources, diagrams, and values. PCB types and assembly structure, methods of soldering/desoldering electronic components/ECs) are described elaborately. The metal, polymer, and ceramics contents of different PCBs are covered. PCB fabrication types, etching, surface finishing and assembly methods are covered. The effects of waste PCB recycling on metal resources are explained. Perspectives of PCB recycling from environmental and marketability perspectives will be highlighted towards sustainability and zero waste scheme.
