Abstract:
In this thesis, albite, silica sand and kaolinite samples provided from Çanakcılar Ceramic San. ve Tic. A.Ş. are used in ceramic sanityware body production and their grinding conditions based on a kinetic model and model parameters are investigated. For this purpose, firstly, four different mono‐sized fractions were prepared between 0.106 and 0.045 mm formed by √2 sieve series. Si and Bi,j (breakage distribution function and related model parameter) equations were determined from the size distributions at different grinding times, and the model parameters (Si, aT, α, γ and ΦJ ) different ball kind (alumina‐cylpebs), ball diameter (30‐10 mm) and dry‐wet grinding medium, four different filling ratios (fc=0.072, 0.096, 0.120 and 0.144) and ball filling loads (%20, %30, % 35 and %40). Then, ceramic sanitaryware were produced from the products obtained during the must suitable grinding conditions of the grinding studies based on the kinetic model and relations between the technological properties of these bodies and kinetic model parameters were discussed. The results of this study suggest that ceramic raw materials can be grinded using cylpebs ball and variations of model parameters belonging to cumulative distribution function can be observed. In addition, between the grinding data and technological properties of ceramic sabitaryware are developed a model with a high significance level.
