Biography

Yüksel AYDAR was born in Trabzon-Köprübaşı, Turkey and graduated from Trabzon High School in 1987 in Trabzon. He earned a V.M.D from the Veterinary Medicine of Ankara University, Turkey in 1993. He then received a scholarship from the Ministry of National Education based on a nationwide exam offered by The Council of Higher Education and the Ministry of National Education in 1994 to study Master of Science and Ph.D. on Human Anatomy abroad. He attended to the English Language Department at Middle East Technical University in 1994 in Ankara, Turkey and to the English Language Program at the Virginia Commonwealth University in 1995 in Richmond, Virginia, USA to strengthen his English. Dr. Aydar started Master of Science Program at the Department of Anatomy, Medical School of Virginia Commonwealth University in 1996 and he completed his thesis titled “Preovulatory Luteinizing Hormone Secretion in Young and Middle-Aged Long- Evans Female Rats” in 1998 under the supervision of Richard J. Krieg, Jr., Ph.D., Professor of Anatomy & Neurobiology and Pediatrics. He then started his PhD Program at the Department of Anatomy, Medical School of Virginia Commonwealth University in 1998 and he successfully defended his thesertation titled “Age related changes in molecular interactions between follicular dendritic cells and B cells during the germinal center reaction” in 2002 under the supervision of Andras K. Szakal, D.M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Anatomy & Neurobiology. Dr. Aydar continued his scientific work as a Postdoctoral-Research-Associate at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Medical School of Virginia Commonwealth University between 2002 and 2005. Consequently, Dr. Aydar returned to Department of Anatomy, Medical School of Eskişehir Osmangazi University in 2005, Eskişehir, Turkey. Since then Dr. Aydar has been teaching Human Gross Anatomy and Neuroanatomy to medical students in Turkish at the Department of Anatomy, Medical School of Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Eskişehir, Turkey and in English at the Department of Anatomy, Medical School of Yeditepe University, 34755 Ataşehir-İstanbul, Turkey since 2012.
